FARMERS is the result of an original, ambitious and unique project. The concept of “Sosteria Agricola” manifest itself in a sustainable, nonindustrial and “farm-to-table” restaurant.
The business project was born thanks to 3AQS - Authentic Food of Superior Quality Association - with the idea of creating a new food-service model focused on small local farmers and on agricultural products of high and sustainable quality, through a relationship of trust with city-based customers. The idea was put into practice jointly with some small food and wine manufacturers from Lazio who decided to join in order to create a shared store where customers could know, without filters or intermediaries, their products, their roots and their stories. In a metropolitan context, in direct contact with people, with a short value chain system, FARMERS, the first Sosteria Agricola, offers the best local organic and sustainable products, coming daily from the countryside of the region, respecting the crop calendar.
Farmers - Sosteria Agricola- offers about 80 seats on a surface of 150 square meters , with an exterior space where you can easy wait for train departures or arrivals , meet up with friends to taste the quality of regional products or took part to our often scheduled tasting events. Farmers’ furniture respects and express high quality standards and tradition. Tables and shelves are entirely made of recycled wood treated with natural and non-toxic products. All furniture is fully restored according to sustainability values. The LED backlighting allows a considerable energy saving and the disposable tableware is fully recyclable and compostable.
With the “tavern with kitchen formula” we offer traditional regional dishes daily, cooked with fresh and strictly selected products by 3AQS, respecting sustainability, high quality and authenticity values. At Farmers you can find different types of handmade pasta from regional manufacturers - for example, pasta made with the ancient “Senatore Cappelli’s wheat flour” or with the unique hemp flour, handmade by “Selva Cimina” from Canepina, native place of “fieno”, a traditional variety of pasta.
At lunch or dinner, leaving for or returning from a business or pleasure trip, at Farmers you can eat typical pasta from Roman tradition, dish of the day, fresh ground beef burgers and meat from local high quality selected farms, seasonal vegetable side dishes, vegetarian and vegan dishes, homemade bread and pizza with strictly selected flours, yeasts and cereals. Farmers proudly serves in glass or sells in bottle some of the best local wines, produced by bio-farm Trebotti and high-quality craft beers from Treefarm, both on tap and bottled.
Our bar-cafeteria offers delicious breakfast (continental breakfast as well ). You can also find our bio and fair trade coffee made with the precious mixtures from “Caffè Haiti Roma”, our high quality milk delivered by local farmers and our homemade sweets. Never fail bio and high quality juices and drinks, gourmet sandwiches and take away food.
You can also buy wine ,extra virgin olive oil, honey, beer, coffee, pasta, preserves, meats, cold cuts, cheese and any other product supplied by manufacturers and members involved in our project, simply choosing from shelves and displays arranged along the walls, reviving an imaginary gastronomic journey through the most beautiful countryside and villages of Lazio. Very often you can personally meet the producers, for instance during our tasting events organized in order to fill the gap between customers and manufactuers.
